Persio Domínguez

Dominican conductor and music educator Persio Domínguez is a fervent advocate for community engagement, cultural exchange, and empowerment through music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Theory from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD ’24). Early in his career, he collaborated as a assistant conductor with the Big Band of the Dominican National Conservatory of Music, and as a principal conductor with the String Orchestra and Choir of the Dominican Academy of Music and Arts, and the DIGEPEP Intercommunity Wind Band.

Locally, he serves as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Tenacious String Orchestra. In this role, he oversees the season planning, the artistic identity, and the community outreach, curating innovative and accessible programs. Additionally, as the Music and Artistic Director of the NL Latin Band, and the Cayenne Trio, he has organized and led over 30 public performances across Newfoundland, developing strong audience engagement and cross-cultural leadership skills.

Domínguez aims to foster a supportive, engaging, and high-achieving artistic environment that is grounded in collaboration, creativity, and community. One of his goals is to cultivate vibrant connections between the orchestras, their musicians, and their communities by leading with empathy and creativity.

Currently, this promising artist completes his Master’s in Orchestra Conducting (MUN 2026) along with his most recent achievement as recipient of the RBC Emerging Artist Conductor Fellowship (2025) with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. He is committed to fostering artistic growth and creating meaningful musical experiences.
